LONDON (AFP) - David Beckham has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to West Ham with his spokesman insisting that the former England skipper is happy with life at LA Galaxy.

Hammers co-owner David Gold was reported at the weekend to be keen on bringing the 35-year-old midfielder back to London.

"There has been no contact with or offer from West Ham," a Beckham spokesman told the BBC.

"David is happy at the Los Angeles Galaxy and has no interest in leaving, and is looking forward to returning to the team on August 9."

Beckham is still recovering from the ruptured Achilles tendon that ruled him out of the World Cup and is hoping to be back in action by September.

On Sunday, Gold said he was tempted to hand Beckham a key role as the East London club seek to obtain residency at London's Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Games.

Gold believes the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder would be the ideal ambassador to secure a deal to move the English Premier League club to the new ground.

He was also thought to be mulling the possibility of handing the former England skipper a short-term playing role.
