Preserving the dignity of Muara cemetery

Volunteers working together to clean the cemetery in Pekan Muara. - SAHAMA

The Community and Welfare Bureau and Village Consultative Council of Pekan Muara, Sabun and Pelumpong in Mukim Serasa held a cleaning campaign at the Muslim cemetery in Pekan Muara recently.

Among the goals were to protect, clean and maintain the dignity of the cemetery while strengthening ties between the organisers and residents in the area.

Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Othman, Head of Kampong Masjid Lama and Chairman of the Village Consultative Council joined officials from the Department of Religious Affairs, Royal Brunei Police Force, Department of Fire and Rescue, Department of Royal Customs and Excise and villagers in the initiative.

A recitation of surah yassin, tahlil and prayers was also led by Haji Zulkifli bin Haji Putih, Head of Religious Bureau at the Village Consultative Council.
