IFB inks deal with Sunlit Advertising

With over 300 booths to be filled by prominent players in the technology industries, the upcoming TECHEXPO 2010 which will be held from November 4 to 7 aims to be the "mother of all ICT exhibition" ever to be held in Brunei.

With the event set to be organised at the International Convention Centre (ICC), the signing of agreement was held yesterday between Infocom Federation Brunei (IFB) and a prominent local event organiser, Sunlit Advertising Sdn Bhd at the Authority for Info-communication Technology Industry in Brunei Darussalam (AITI) in Kampung Anggerek Desa, Jalan Berakas.

When asked about what is the difference between this anticipated event and other technology expo held locally, organisers during a press conference said they expect over 100,000 visitors from the public alone, the exhibition will showcase ICT based products ranging from energy, home appliances, robotics, gadgetries and many more.

It is also a platform where sellers and resellers of technology can conduct business matching and product developer or industry players will be able to introduce or officially launch their latest technology since the event will be participated by international industry players.

Among those already confirmed to take part in the event are the Microsoft Certified Partner, Tech One Global Limited, where according to the General Manager, Arjuna Ranasinghe, during a press conference, said they will include their participation with the launching of a product which had not been properly launched in Brunei.

Among the scheduled feature are keynote addresses from the industry players, the organisers stated.

The organisers also said they are currently inviting exhibitors to participate in the event.

Infocom Federation Brunei (IFB) is a non-profit national body, a voice of the ICT industry and a bridge between the government and all players of the ICT industries; dedicated to growing and nurturing information technology and communication industry in Brunei Darussalam.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dato Paduka Hj Awang Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya DiGadong Seri Lela Hj Seri Utama Hj Mohamad Taha, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communication.

Signing the agreement were Abd Ghani Pg Hj Metusin, IFB's Chairman and Jackson Ting, Sunlit Advertising's Managing Director. The agreement was co-signed by Sheikh Abas Sheikh Mohammad, IFB's Deputy Chairman, Tazio Erwann Andrew Seong Onn Lai, Assistant Marketing Manager.

The IFB, with its strong and vast network, will convene prominent information technology companies not only limited to the Borneo region but also those from the regional and international spectrum. Sunlit Advertising, being co-organiser and a seasoned event manager, will manage the event and will be fully in-charge of the marketing, promotions and logistics.

IFB's Chairman, Abd Ghani Pg Hj Metusin, feels that the federation is headed in the right direction which represents one of their responsibilities and hopefully showcases their commitment in strengthening the information technology and communication industry in Brunei.

He would thus encourage all those involved with or interested in the ICT industry to take part in the expo and register as exhibitors.
