The visitors were briefed by the Assistant Manager, Stakeholder Relations, BEDB, Fiza Rambli, and the Marketing and Public Relations of iCentre, Ardiwi Ahmad, on iCentre and BEDB initiatives as well as the overview of Brunei's Economy and BEDB projects.
BEDB mission includes focusing on new industries and economic activities that could bring to Brunei new knowledge, new markets as well as employment opportunities.
Apart from that, BEDB will also focus on business clusters which Brunei has a competitive advantage and will always strive to work in partnership with foreign investors, government agencies and local stakeholders.
iCentre, on the other hand, is Brunei's first ICT incubator, a declaration of Brunei's commitment to exploiting potential in business services which was launched by His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah in March 2008.
iCentre is focused on developing local SMEs in the field of information and communications technology.
Before ending their visit, the students were given a tour around the iCentre and its facilities.
