Some 52 male members of Permai held a tahlil for the late parents of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday at the Royal Mausoleum.
Attending the event were the President of Permai Acep Prasojo, his advisors Agus S Djamil and Ismaya Sukardi. The ceremony began with a recitation of the Surah al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Hj Achmad Suhendar followed by the Surah Yaasiin and tahlil led by Ustaz Hj Achmad Dhofir while the Doa Selamat was read by Ustaz Sirnoto Abdul Hadi.
In his remarks, the President of Permai highlighted that this was his first visit to Brunei and the event also aimed to increase religious activities during the holy month of Ramadhan through a series of Tedarus ceremonies. The conclusion of the 30 juzuks of al-Quran recital will conclude with a Khatam al-Quran ceremony on August 11.
Permai, with the cooperation of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, is also organising 'Sungkai' programmes followed by Terawikh prayers at the chancery in Jalan Muara. A 'Ramadhan Family Training' will be held on August 8 and a 'Ramadhan Business Forum' on August 12. The activities will conclude with a recitation of the 'Takbir' on the last day of Ramadhan and an Aidilfitri prayer on 1st Syawal at the chancery.
