A visit to one of the Bandar night stalls turned into a victorious occasion for local food enthusiast Thanis Lim after he set a new national record for wolfing down a six-tiered 'beef patty' burger.
The new record also marked the introduction of 'My KL Grilled Tower Burger' in the capital on Monday night.
The eating challenge had earlier attracted five brave, hungry visitors on the first day of the month-long festivities, which saw numerous tents being set up to accommodate stalls and other miscellaneous businesses.
My KL Tower Burger is a concept adopted from Kuala Lumpur, and is renowned for its sumptuous, mouth-watering goodness. It is prepared with standard American-sized buns and a selection of chicken, beef or mixed, and assembled into a burger tower using a stick.
Made available to the public since Sunday night, My KL Tower's specialty burgers are the 'Combo Chicken Burger Tower' - a combination of both chicken and burger - and the 'Cheesy Beef Bacon Tower.'
The previous national record was set the night before when a customer took on a five-tiered combo burger at My KL Burger, located at stall No 45.
Customers will enjoy a taste of national pride and the mountainous burger for free if they complete the challenge successfully.
My KL Burger, inspired by chef Nasir, and brought to the Sultanate by owner Norazah Shuieb, is also easily one of the tallest burgers in the region.
Chef Nasir and Norazah explained the burgers are homemade, and that the brand prides itself with good quality food.
Norazah also noted that it appeals to the masses in KL, with waiting queues running for up to 45 minutes for a single order.
