In heeding the call of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's titah during the Israk Mikraj Celebration to incorporate prayers into the family institution, Legislative Council member YB Awg Hj Gapor @ Hj Mohd Daud bin Karim yesterday also made a call for the inclusion of religious activities in family institution.

YB Awg Hj Gapor was speaking to the media yesterday at the sidelines of the Bukit Markucing Challenge Run which was held in conjunction with the 28th Brunei National Day celebration. The run started and finished at Tasek Saruding Recreational Park in Kg Belimbing.

He suggested that families could get together for a Zohor prayer during recreation activities to foster closer ties among family members

He added, "Also in other prayer times, we could temporarily stop the activities and then fulfill the second pillar of Islam which is performing the obligation of praying."

YB Awg Hj Gapor, who is also the Village Head of Kg Belimbing said, "We support His Majesty's titah and next year, we will include religious activities along with other activities together. We are planning to provide an area which is suitable for performing prayers."

Speaking about the Tasek Sarubing Recreational Park, he said "The park has become a popular place for recreation activities for not only the public but also tourists."

He revealed that at present, the village is in the midst of establishing a memorandum of understanding with a local travel agent to bring in tourists to the park.
