APTK holds briefing for 150 job seekers

Some 150 job seekers attended a briefing organised by the Local Employment and Workforce Development Agency (APTK), Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday on the roles and respons-ibilities of APTK, as well as the programmes available.

On hand to deliver the briefing was the Assistant Commissioner of Labour, Dk Siti Khatizah Pg Hj Bakar, who elaborated on the organisational structure of the Ministry of Home Affairs, objectives of the Job and Training Scheme (SLP), the processes involved in SLP, as well as a detailed explanation of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) programme.

This time, participants of the OJT will be placed at Borneo United as cleaners at Institut Teknologi Brunei and the RIPAS Hospital, depending on proximity to the participants' residence. Also at the briefing was Catherin of Borneo United.

This batch will be the seventh to enrol in the SLP, which has been made possible following the cooperation and involvement of the private sector in facilitating and providing opportunities for the job seekers, through APTK.
