The Belait District Officer attended a 'muzakarah' or dialogue session with members of the Kampong Mumong Consultative Council, as well as residents and youths of Kg Mumong, recently, at the Kg Pandan Community Hall.
The meeting was held to foster closer ties between officers of the Belait District Office and village residents and to address issues or problems faced by villagers.
Kg Mumong is the third village to hold such a meeting.
The meeting served as a platform for the dissemination of information and sharing of experience.
In reference to the recent appointment of members of the Kampong Mumong Consultative Council and Women Bureau for 2011-2016, the Belait District Officer reminded the council members to assist their village leaders in managing and administering the village.
Hj Yusof bin Hj Dulamin, the Village Head of Kg Mumong said the village has a large population of 11,000 people, adding that the support and guidance from the consultative council members are essential.
