The Ministry of Development yesterday organised a gathering for their women officers and staff, at the Dewan Indera Pahlawan of the Ministry of Development's Training Centre.
Present at the event was Datin Hjh Asmah Hj Abdul Rahman, wife of the Minister of Development.
The gathering consisted of a lecture entitled "Responsibility of a Career and Family Woman according to Islam", delivered by an invited speaker, Ustazah Hjh Noor Hj Mohadi.
Among the aims of the event were to elaborate the role of women, as the pillar for the development of the family and nation, and how women could balance the responsibilities of career and family.
The lecture also included and explained the noble characteristics of a working woman and explained the duties of women in maintaining harmony in the household.
The lecture contents could also be used as a guide for women regarding the aims and obligations to work according to their needs, in accordance with Islamic teachings.
