A group of officers and staff of the Ministry of Religious Affairs received certificates of appreciation for their participation in the recent Inter-Ministry Sports Festival in a ceremony held at the Dewan Teratai, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Present as guest of honour was Pg Haji Anuar bin Pg Seri Indera Pg Haji Ismail, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, who handed the certificates to the recipients.
Pg Haji Anuar said that the ministry grabbed one gold medal, three silver and four bronze medals in the inter-ministry games which were organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs also clinched a bronze medal in the regatta championships.
He said that those who are active in sports can avoid the onset of chronic diseases and that a healthy and happy worker will produce quality work.
He noted that some of personnel of the ministry were athletes who had participated at national events as well represented the country at the international level.
He said that preparation for next year's inter-ministry games will take place much earlier and hopefully bring more medals to the ministry.
The games are aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among officers and staff of the ministries while providing an opportunity to develop sporting excellence. Also present were Hj Zulkifli Panglima Asgar Dato Paduka Awg Hj Abdullah, Director of Administration at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as other senior officers.
