There is "no publicised cost" but this rare, one-of-a-kind engine has been insured for a million dollars.
For the first time in this region, Brunei Shell Marketing (BSM) is currently showcasing a transparent life scale Nissan 370Z engine made of Perspex at the Consumer Fair Part 9 (CF9), which opened yesterday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
Md Adini Md Daini, BSM Head of Retail, told the Bulletin that the purpose of bringing in the completely transparent engine is "to better educate and display the way Shell's Helix engine oil works".
The engine is part of Shell's television commercial that uses an "invisible" Nissan 370Z built completely transparent, done to its finest details, in order to showcase its new range of Shell Helix lubricants.
Such technology is not cheap to build. The insured sum is an indicator of how expensive the engine could be.
